Yoga Nidra to Cultivate Inner Fortitude (Zoom)
This class will be offered via Zoom every other Friday morning 7:00am-7:30am PST. This series will be from Friday June 2nd through Friday August 25th, 2023. Sign up for each date you would like to attend by clicking the Register button below, which will take you to Eventbrite.
Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) is the practice of lying on one’s back while allowing the consciousness to flow into a state of enlightened relaxation. We live in a time of constant busy-ness where creating a sense of peace and inner fortitude is last on the to-do list, yet should be a priority. You do not need any prior experience and it is perfect for anyone who’s struggled with quieting a monkey mind in meditation. All you need is somewhere quiet and comfortable to lie down. The benefits I, and many others, have received are: a deeper sense of peace, inner fortitude, better sleep, enhanced intuition, a sharper mind, and more energy. All are welcome, no prior experience needed. Come ready to rest.
Nutrition as Harm Reduction (in-person & Zoom)
Are you on the microdosing train? Or maybe it’s festival season and you’re ready to party! Perhaps a little gummy helps you get to bed every night.
Whether you use cannabis to unwind, psilocybin for focus and flow, LSD for creativity, MDMA for trauma recovery, or any other entheogen/psychedelic substance you might just be draining yourself of the necessary nutrients to experience all of those benefits. Using these different substances requires different vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients from our brain and body in order to produce the desired effects.
How do we stock up on and replenish these nutrients? Through food! What we eat directly impacts our physical, mental and emotional health.
Come learn about how you can use nutrition as a means to prepare your body at a cellular level in order to prevent feeling low and depleted after working with substances.
I’ve been wanting to offer this workshop for a while because I truly believe food is medicine and I also believe in a sweet balance of letting loose with psychedelics but also taking great care of myself. This is for everyone and anyone curious, whether you use any substances regularly, occasionally, or haven’t ever explored them before. This class is offered for FREE in partnership with Five Flavors Herbs It will be in-person and online via Zoom. Please register via Eventbrite.
Healthy on a Budget (Zoom)
Health is wealth! And it doesn’t have to break the bank to get there. If you’ve been struggling to eat and live healthfully because healthy foods always seem to cost more, then this workshop is for you! Learn tips on how to cut back on spending before you even grocery shop, how to properly select and store your produce so you’re not throwing away money with wilted veggies, and how to save money at the farmers’ markets*. This class will be held virtually via Zoom and in partnership with the non-profit Banyan Tree Women’s Collective.

Abhyanga: Warm Oil Self-Massage How-To (Zoom)
Abhyanga is a rejuvenating full-body massage using warm herbalized oils. It’s one of the best ways to restore balance to our prana (life force energy), and is effective in stimulating and strengthening the lymphatic system, calming the nervous system, enhancing blood flow, strengthening the immune system, and so much more. In this class we’ll discuss the benefits of abhyanga and then dive into a guided how-to. Bring a towel to sit on, some warm oil, and wear clothes or a bathing suit that you wouldn’t mind getting oil on. Recommended oils: Coconut or sunflower oil are inherently cooling and a great choice during late spring, summer, and early fall as well as for those with more heat in their system. Sesame or almond oil are inherently warming and a great choice during late fall, winter, and early spring as well as for those with more coldness in their system. A healthy lifestyle is the foundation of the Ayurvedic path towards optimal health and well-being. Having a daily routine creates stability and promotes vitality into our lives. While no one routine is perfect for everyone you will learn about individual practices and how to adapt each based on your unique mind-body constitution. I will demonstrate how to do tongue scraping, oil pulling, using a neti pot, eye wash, abhyanga/self massage with oil, dry brushing, and some simple breath-work practices. Creating and following a daily routine is an act of self-love. Come and love yourself! This class will be held online via Zoom. You must register for the Zoom link. Class is free and in partnership with nonprofit Banyan Tree Women's Collective.
Ayurvedic Living for Summer
It’s Summertime (Pitta season)! While some people who have chronically cold hands and feet are relishing in the heat of summer, others who tend towards a hotter nature will feel aggravated by the excess heat and be running for the water. One thing Ayurveda teaches us is to live in harmony with nature’s cycles and adjust our daily habits and routines to do so. I’ll be discussing foods and spices to keep you cool, best times to exercise and which exercises to avoid, along with other diet and lifestyle habits to stay cool and balanced all summer long. This class will be IN-PERSON in Menlo Park, CA.
Ayurvedic Breakfast Cook-Along (zoom)
Let’s make breakfasts together! In this workshop we will be making two different breakfasts, a quinoa porridge and a smoothie, but through an Ayurvedic lens. We will learn how to make modifications to make each breakfast suitable for all mind-body constitutions. Bonus: a fun masala coffee recipe (gentler on the tummy than plain coffee). Register to receive the recipes and shopping lists ahead of time to cook along with me! Invite a friend over for breakfast. See you in the kitchen on Sunday!

Our bodies and minds are primed for a fresh, clean start and lightening things up. Come learn about establishing a great seasonal routine to overcome winter’s heaviness and move into cleansing and renewal. I will be sharing how to adjust your diet and lifestyle according to Ayurvedic principles to bring balance and harmony to your body, mind, and spirit during springtime.
Yoga Nidra to Cultivate Peace and Calm: Intro with 30 min Nidra Experience
You will learn about what yoga nidra is, the benefits, and the basics for setting up your yoga nidra “nest,” or place to practice. This class will include an information session and then we will lie down for a 30 minute yoga nidra practice. Yoga nidra is for anyone and everyone, you do not need any prior yoga experience. It is practiced lying down so you will need a mat, a pillow, and some blankets or you can lie on your bed. Get comfortable as we relax and learn how to manifest our sankalpa, or “vision,” from within our consciousness.
Don't forget to sign up for each date of this week long series.
Restorative Yoga Nidra series
Yoga nidra (yogic sleep) is the practice of lying on one’s back while allowing the consciousness to flow into a state of enlightened relaxation. We live in a time of constant busy-ness where creating a sense of peace and calm is much needed, yet sometimes hard to do. This is not a yoga practice involving asanas, or poses. You do not need any prior experience and it is perfect for anyone who’s struggled with quieting a monkey mind in meditation. All you need is somewhere quiet and comfortable to lie down. The benefits I, and many others, have received are a deeper sense of peace, better sleep, enhanced intuition, better memory, and more energy. This series will take place every other day starting on February 2, 2022 through February 10, 2022. There will be a mix of morning, afternoon, and evening sessions for you to experience what may work best for you. You do not need to attend each session, although I encourage you to do so to create the ritual of returning to Self as often as possible. This series will be held virtually via Zoom in partnership with Banyan Tree Women’s Collective. Individual dates with respective times will be listed as separate events.
Healthy Brain, Vibrant Life (In-person)
Did you know that our brains do NOT stop growing after our early twenties? It has been discovered that given the proper environment and following the recommended diet and lifestyle, you can keep growing new brain cells for your entire life! Growing new brain cells = neurogenesis. Why should you care? Higher rates of neurogenesis are associated with elevated immunity, higher cognitive function, emotional vitality and resilience, protection from stress, anxiety, and depression, better memory, faster learning, and enhanced overall brain function. “To increase neurogenesis is to improve your entire life—how you think, feel, and act” - Dr. Brant Cortright. Join me for this in-person workshop hosted by Banyan Tree Women’s Collective to learn about diet and lifestyle tips to defy the aging process. This workshop will be held at the Arrillaga Family Recreation at 700 Alma Street, Menlo Park, CA 94025.

Healthy Fats: Learn Which Fats to Eat
There’s a lot of confusing and conflicting information on how eating fats will make you fat. Come learn about which fats to choose and which fats to lose. You will learn about sources of healthy fats, the function and role of fats in our body, all about trans fats, how to read labels, and you’ll get to enjoy a sweet treat loaded with healthy fats at the end of class. This class will be in person at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center in Menlo Park, CA (700 Alma Street, Menlo Park, CA).
How to make ghee
Learn how to make the delicious, nourishing, vitality-increasing healthy fat—ghee, also known as clarified butter. Ghee is revered in Ayurveda for its many health benefits: increasing digestive fire, detoxifying (while simultaneously driving nutrients deep into the cells), lubricates the body from the inside out preventing constipation, stiff joints/bones, and osteoporosis; builds ojas (the essence of immunity and life), and is a very stable cooking fat with a smoke point of 485F. This golden fat is simply butter that has been boiled in a specific way and has the lactose and milk solids strained out. This is why it’s generally ok for those who are lactose-intolerant to enjoy ghee. Let’s make this golden superfood together!
